Terms of service

1) Greenstone Countertops Inc. (GCI) is a technologically advanced stone fabrication facility, catering to residential and commercial projects. GCI works with various natural and engineered surfaces so that we may meet the needs of any client.

2) The client, or their designated representative, must be present to verify that the installed product is free of any physical damage (chips, cracks, or scratches), upon the completion of the install. Should the client choose to not be present, or not have a present designated representative, the client will have up to 24 hours from the time of install to inspect the product for physical damage. Any findings of physical damage are to be communicated to GCI via email, info@greenstonecountertops.com, with accompanying photos, within 24 hours of installation. See GCI Warranty for further details.

3) GCI uses latest generation CNC equipment to fabricate stone, including a multi-step machining process to prepare edges intended for seaming. a) During the seaming process, GCI uses color matched epoxy and precision tooling, for the best possible seam. Occasionally, there are limitations beyond the control of the install team that prevent a “perfect seam,” such as subtle variations in material thickness, shade, warped sections of slab, porosity and brittleness of the material. All efforts are made to ensure that the seam is least noticeable. b) GCI holds its seaming quality to above industry standards, with countertop lippage tolerance of 0.025” (1/40”).

4) All efforts will be made to vein-match material with movement (bold veins that contrast background color) so long as there is sufficient material to manipulate the geometry of the pieces. a) If vein-matching is an absolute requirement in the project, the client needs to express this before GCI orders material. The purchase of additional material from the same batch may be required to ensure vein-matching and shade-matching.

5) Stone surface installers work with very tight tolerances while positioning heavy and brittle countertops. Walls are seldom perfectly flat or straight. GCI aims to minimize gaps between the countertop and its adjacent walls. While installing countertops between two side walls, scrapes to the drywall are sometimes unavoidable. GCI is not responsible for the repair of scrapes to drywall or paint touch ups.

6) Natural stone (granite, marble, quartzite and dolomite) has naturally occurring fissures throughout slabs which may visually appear as hairline cracks. Fissures are to be expected in natural stone and do not render the material defective. Some natural stone is prone to chipping during fabrication and may require minor repairs in the shop with color matched epoxy. When required, repairs will be conducted in accordance with industry standards.

7) Natural stone is a porous material and should be sealed to avoid staining. The option for GCI to professionally seal natural stone can be purchased as an extra service.

8) If GCI is requested to perform work that is contradictory with industry best practices, the client will be requested to sign a waiver of liability.

9) If GCI is requested to perform work on stone that was not sold, and / or installed by GCI, the client will be requested to sign a waiver of liability.

10) GCI is an authorized dealer of sinks, faucets, cooktops, and other kitchen paraphernalia.

Any warranty claims against such items are to be filed directly with the product manufacturer.
